What I Discovered from Top 5 CliftonStrengths
I was lucky to carry out this test as the HR team of my company provided a training that required the participants to bring the results of the CliftonStrengths test to.
The company covered the costs, but if I had known about this earlier, I would have been willing to pay myself. Because just for 19.99 USD, you can get a report that clearly defines your 5 most powerful natural talents, why you succeed using the talents, what action to take to maximise such potential, and finally, what blind spots we should watch out for due to possessing such potential.
I put link below where you can take the test yourself if you wish.
5 Top Talents I have turned out to be per below & I noted some points from the report for each that stood out to me.
1. Significance
How I can thrive: I want to make a big impact. I am independent and prioritise projects based on how much influence the will have on my organisation or people around me.
Why my significance is unique: I am gratified when people tell others that I am a competent, trustworthy, and accomplished individual. I am determined to be in charge of my destiny. I am most alive when I hear thunderous applause or receive accolades from those who realise I am important. I am delighted when people want to spend time with me.
Why I succeed using Significance: I want to do important work and am determined to make a difference.
What action to take to maximise my potential: When you look back on your life, what will you have done to make the world a better place?
Blind spots to watch out for: People might perceive me as overly concerned about my reputation and success. Acknowledge that I will need to earn the respect of others through my actions and contributions.
2. Futuristic
How I can thrive: I am inspired by the future and what could be. I energise others with my visions of the future.
Why my significance is unique: I like being an individual performer as it allows me to concentrate all my energy on what I want to accomplish in the coming months, years, or decades. I sharpen my ideas about the future by spending time with possibility thinkers. Together, we regularly talk about inventions, medicines, designs, technologies, or food supplies that no one else has even considered. I capture people's attention whenever I describe in vivid detail what I imagine. The individuals who most appreciate my forward thinking probably want and need to hear from me often.
Why I succeed using Significance: I am a visionary. My powerful anticipation and detailed visualisation of a better future can turn aspirations into reality. My vision of tomorrow can inspire and push others to new heights.
What action to take to maximise my potential: Use as much detail as possible when I describe what I see on the horizon. Not everyone can naturally fill in the gaps between the present and future like I can.
Blind spots to watch out for: I find it difficult to enjoy the present moment. Don't overlook opportunities to experience and appreciate where I am now.
3. Individualisation
How I can thrive: I am intrigued with the unique qualities of each person. I have a gift for figuring out how different people can work together productively.
Why my significance is unique: I thrive when surrounded by supportive individuals. By nature, I am keenly aware of people's unique talents. I can easily identify with what others are thinking and feeling. I grow and benefit when I emphasise my strong points. This is why I seek the company of people who value my unique gifts.
Why I succeed using Significance: I notice and appreciate each person's unique characteristics, and I do not treat everyone the same. I see what makes each individual unique, so I know how to bring out their best.
What action to take to maximise my potential: Help individuals understand and maximise the power of their talents. Study successful people to discover the uniqueness that made them successful.
Blind spots to watch out for: I often know more about others than they know about me. I need to share my preferences with people, and don't assume they will instinctively know.
4. Focus
How I can thrive: I prioritise, then act.
Why my significance is unique: I am more persistent and determined than many people are. This is most evident when I have established a clear goal. I avoid being distracted by irrelevant, time-consuming, and/or nonproductive activities. I appreciate being surrounded by like-minded individuals. They motivate me to expend even more energy accomplishing whatever needs to be done.
Why I succeed using Significance: I have a powerful ability to prioritise, set goals and work efficiently.
What action to take to maximise my potential: Put a daily "power hour" of complete focus on my calendar each week. Find a committed space and work toward one important goal - and nothing else.
Blind spots to watch out for: Remember to occasionally stop what I am doing so I can re-evaluate my objectives to notice when goals/priorities change.
5. Maximiser
How I can thrive: I seek to transform something strong into something superb.
Why my significance is unique: I am grateful when my questions are answered, my studies yield new information, or my knowledge increases. I routinely deepen my understanding through conversations, the media, the Internet, books, or classes. I choose to take advantage of my talents - and by doing so, I consistently produce topnotch results.
Why I succeed using Significance: I focus on quality, and I prefer working with and for the best.
What action to take to maximise my potential: Make my weaknesses irrelevant. Find a partner, devise a support system or use one of my stronger themes to compensate for my weaker ones.
Blind spots to watch out for: I desire to exhaust all possible outcomes and this can frustrate those who want to come to a suitable conclusion and move forward. Sometimes, I need to accept that "good enough" is adequate and appropriate.
